This project we had to use a formula we learned to make comparisons. We had to get 10 creative common pictures and write a sentence comparing two photos at a time. I like this project because it was something new. We got to use a new website called animoto to make a slide show. It’s really cool. I’m enjoying projects now that we are doing them on the computer. This week we are reviewing the Spanish verbs “ser” and “estar.” This blog post is strickly for “estar.” The verb “estar” is used for location, health, present progressive, and emotion.

In our last blog post, we had to use “Creative Commons” to find pictures that we could use. In my opinion, I do not like using “Creative Commons” in my work. In some ways, they are fine to use and they can be time saver. I still don’t like to use them. But, this is appropriate way of obtaining pictures, so I will subdue to this style.
During the first semester, I have really enjoyed using our blogs. I have learn the difference between blogging and other communications that I use such as Facebook and text messaging. With Facebook and text messaging, you don’t have to be very professional because nobody cares. But on a blog, you have to make it look professional because classmates, teachers, and parents will be looking. I feel fine about embedding my work on my blog because I feel i do quality work. It really doesn’t matter if my friends comment on my blog. I believe knowing how to blog could help me later on in life, with certain jobs. I would like to keep using my blog during the whole semester because using pencil and paper sometimes can get monotonous.
In Spanish 2, we covered our vocabulary and grammar structures dealing with our daily routines. We also learned what a reflexive verb is and how to use it in our writings and during our conversations.
We were required to make a voki, which is a voice avatar that we can create and it look like just about anything, to discuss our daily routine for getting ready to go to school. We had to go through several steps in order to complete this process. First, we had to write a script, stating we we did every morning before school. Next, we had to give our script to Mrs. Hugghins, so she can make sure their were no grammatical errors. After correcting our scripts and practicing pronouncing our script, we used our cellphones to call in and record our daily routines. Finally, we e-mailed our final product to Mrs. Hugghins and we embedded our avatar right below. This project counts as our six weeks test grade.
This project was better than most of all the other projects because it was using technology. I, somewhat, enjoyed using the voki for this project. I enjoyed this project because it got away from the usual pencil and paper method for teaching. I did not like using the voki for the speaking test, strictly because I don’t like speaking in Spanish, but other than that, we could record as many times as we thought it was necessary to get our script as perfect as possible. I would rather my voki do the speaking for me, rather than I stand up in front of my class and speak in Spanish. I think this was valuable to me as a Spanish learner because I need to learn to practice speaking in Spanish and this allowed me to critic myself and hear myself speaking in Spanish.
After we learned how to use adjectives and how to use the website stixy, I made a stixy board that includes 8 sentences with different verb phrases. Here’s the link to my board:
In the second six weeks, we reviewed our adjectives and how to apply them in sentence form. I made a presentation about adjectives and how they are applied.
In the first six weeks, we learned how to speak in Spanish. We reviewed how to tell our name, introduce ourselves, and other common sayings. We made a voki, which is a voice avatar. We customized characters to represent ourselves and made them say a couple phrases in Spanish.
